Bursar
Responsible for collecting university fees and departmental charges from Bloomington students.
Responsible for issuing new and refunding debt and liaison to credit rating agencies and underwriters; accounting, reconciling, and reporting for investments, debt, and IU-held endowments and quasi-endowments; performing debt payments and maintaining associated schedules; claiming monthly operating, fee replacement, capital cash, and special state appropriations; forecasting cash flow; recording incoming electronic fund transfers; funding construction on externally financed projects; performing and monitoring post bond-issuance compliance; accounting for certain credit card activity; and managing the Capital Lending Program and Investor Disclosure Website.
External Agencies
IU may enter into contractual agreements to serve as fiscal agent for certain entities which are external to IU governance (External Agencies), for the purpose of facilitating the mutual achievement of educational, research and public services purposes and goals, but only in such instances where the purpose and function of the External Agency relates to, and is consistent with, IU’s mission.
Insurance, Loss Control & Claims
Provides loss prevention, loss control, and related services, and adjusts all claims.
Investments
Responsible for daily management of the University's operating funds investment portfolio and serves as a liaison to the University's external investment consultant, investment custodian bank, and all external investment managers.
Treasury Operations
Guides budgeting for academic and administrative units each year, monitors the university’s fiscal performance, and performs post-investment audits.
